The challenge

A pediatrician runs her practice with an assistant at the front desk. Appointments are written in a paper planner and in phone messages, and each patient’s details are spread across cards and folders.

At the start of the day, it is hard to know who is coming, at what time, and what information is missing for each family.

With Chivo

The assistant books appointments and registers new patients from the dashboard. There, both of them see today’s appointments with their status: waiting, on visit, finished, no show or cancelled.

During the visit, the pediatrician opens the patient’s record: general information, diagnoses, known allergies and the records table, with a viewer to review each entry. When she is done, she finalizes the visit from the same record.

Patients with missing details appear in the dashboard’s incomplete registration list, so the assistant can complete them with the family.

This scenario uses Chivo’s general scheduling and records features; it does not assume pediatric-specific features.

Example quote

“What we wanted was to open the day and see, on one screen, who is coming and what we are missing for each patient.”

The result

In this scenario, the practice would start each day with a single view of today’s appointments and their status, instead of checking paper and messages.

Each patient’s information would be kept together in their record, and missing details would be visible in time to request them at the next visit.
