Draft for legal review — not legal advice

This document is a draft prepared by the Chivo team and is pending review by legal counsel. Text in square brackets, such as [to be confirmed], marks information that is still missing and will be completed before the final version.

1.Summary

  • This website uses essential cookies and local storage to work: session, sign-in security, language and your preferences.
  • If you choose “Accept” in the “Measurement cookies” notice, the public pages load the Meta Pixel and the Google tag (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads or both). We use them to measure visits and the results of our ads, and to show Chivo ads to people who visited the website.
  • None of this loads before you choose “Accept”. If you choose “Reject” or do not answer, it does not load.
  • They only work on the public pages: home, pricing, cases, contact, MCP, developers and the legal pages. Never on sign-in, sign-up, password recovery, email verification, checkout, the account portal or the admin panel, or in the Chivo clinical product.
  • The notice says which providers the website uses (Meta, Google or both). You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer.

2.What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser and that the browser sends back to the server on each visit. Local storage (localStorage) also stores information in your browser, but the browser does not send it to the server: it is read by this website and the scripts it loads, on your device.

These cookies are set by the Meta Pixel and the Google tag on this website's domain. They only exist if you accepted measurement cookies, and only those of the provider the website uses. The durations are Meta's and Google's defaults and may be renewed on each visit. If you choose “Reject”, the website deletes them.

4.Local storage

Local storage in your browser

  • Key: chivo-motion-paused

    Purpose
Remembers whether you paused the website's animations. It is stored only in your browser: it is not a cookie and is never sent to our servers.
    Type
    Functional.
    Duration
Until you clear the website's data in your browser.
    When it is set
Only when you use the “Pause animations” button in the footer.
  • Key: chivo-consent

    Purpose
Stores your choice in the “Measurement cookies” notice (accept or reject), the providers you accepted and the date. It is stored only in your browser: it is not a cookie and is never sent to our servers.
    Type
    Essential: remembers your choice.
    Duration
Your choice is valid for 12 months; after that, the notice asks you again. The key stays in your browser until you clear the website's data.
    When it is set
When you choose “Accept” or “Reject” in the notice.

If you accept measurement cookies, the Meta Pixel and the Google tag may also store data in your browser's local storage (for example, Google Ads may use the _gcl_ls key). If you choose “Reject”, the website deletes Google's keys that start with _gcl_; any other data those tags stored is removed by clearing this website's data in your browser settings.

5.Third-party cookies

  • Recurrente (payments). The checkout page includes Recurrente's payment form, loaded from app.recurrente.com. That form may set its own cookies, needed to process the payment, under Recurrente's policy. This website does not read or control those cookies.
  • Google and Facebook (sign-in). If you choose to sign in with one of these services, we take you to its page, where its own cookies and policies apply.
  • Calendly (demos). When you press “Book a demo” on the public pages, Calendly's scheduler opens in a window inside this website; it only loads when you open it (in the portal and at checkout it opens in a new tab). That window shows a page from calendly.com, which loads Calendly's own analytics and advertising tools and cookies under Calendly's cookie policy; where it applies, Calendly shows you its own cookie choices inside the window. This website does not read those cookies.
  • Meta and Google (measurement and ads). If you accept measurement cookies, the Meta Pixel loads from connect.facebook.net and the Google tag from www.googletagmanager.com. Besides the cookies in the “Measurement cookies” table, Meta and Google may use cookies on their own domains (for example, facebook.com or doubleclick.net) under their own policies. This website does not read or control those cookies.

6.What we do not use

  • Measurement or advertising cookies before you choose “Accept”.
  • Sending your name, email, phone number or form contents to Meta or Google [confirm that Meta automatic advanced matching and Google automatic user-provided data collection are turned off].
  • The Meta Pixel's automatic configuration or Google Ads enhanced conversions.
  • Other analytics, advertising or social media tools of this website's own beyond those described on this page. Calendly's scheduler, when you open it, uses its own (see “Third-party cookies”).
  • Session recording or heatmaps on this website's pages.
  • Browser fingerprinting techniques of our own.

7.How to manage cookies

You can change your choice about measurement cookies at any time with the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer, which reopens the notice. If you choose “Reject”, the website deletes the cookies the Meta Pixel and the Google tag stored on this website's domain and, if they were active on the page, turns them off and reloads it.

You can also view, delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings; if you block cookies, the Meta Pixel and the Google tag cannot store theirs. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in or complete a purchase; the rest of the website will keep working.

The cookies that Meta and Google keep on their own domains are managed from your browser or from the privacy settings of your account on those services.

8.Changes to this policy

We will keep this page in line with what the website actually sets. If we add another non-essential cookie or tool, we will first update this page. If the website starts using a measurement provider that was not there when you accepted, the notice will ask for your consent again before loading its tag.
